Should I take TEAS practice tests?

Taking TEAS practice tests is one of the best ways to not only test your knowledge but also to get used to the test itself. Getting familiar with the structure, question types, and answering strategies will set the foundation for a successful TEAS attempt.

When choosing a practice test, there are several things that you should keep in mind:

  • Make sure it is updated.

The TEAS has recently updated its structure and question types (read more about the change here), so choosing practice tests that have also adapted to the change is extremely important.

  • To compare and contrast.

You can compare multiple practice tests to make sure you are choosing the most useful ones.

  • Simulate test conditions.

The best way to take a practice test is to simulate the entire TEAS experience as closely as possible. That way, you will be able to tell just how ready you are, even in test conditions.

Here are a few tips to make practice tests even more useful for you:

  • At the beginning of your study period, use practice tests to familiarize yourself with the questions. While studying, you can copy the questions on separate cards and use the cards to practice active recall.

  • Familiarize yourself with the types of answers expected of you. Analyze the questions and instructions carefully, and prepare answers that are compatible with the instructions.

  • After taking the test, carefully pinpoint what mistakes you made. Often, you will notice patterns in your mistakes that help you recognize your weaker areas.

You can access our practice test here. They follow the TEAS7 outline and structure, with updated question types.

You can also access the TEAS Exam Simulator to experience real testing conditions, as assess you preparedness level.
