Is anything not allowed on exam day?

When taking the TEAS exam, it is vital to be aware of the prohibited items and actions to maintain a fair and safe testing environment. The regulations may vary depending on the testing facility or organization.

Some common restrictions include:

  • Personal Items - When taking a test, it is usually necessary to leave personal belongings such as bags, backpacks, coats, hats, and electronic devices (except for authorized calculators) outside the testing room. Some testing centers may offer lockers or designated areas for storing these items.

  • Electronic Devices - In the testing room, electronic devices like cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, and laptops are prohibited. They must be powered off and kept aside throughout the exam.

  • Notes and Study Materials - You're not allowed to bring any notes, textbooks, study materials, or reference materials. The exam is designed to assess your knowledge without external aids.

  • Food and Drinks - It is not allowed to have food or drinks in the testing room. If you want to snack or drink during the exam, you must leave the room temporarily to consume them.

  • Speaking to Colleagues - Talking to other test-takers during the exam is not allowed to maintain a quiet and distraction-free environment.

  • Leaving the Room - Exiting the testing room may be restricted or permitted only under specific circumstances, such as emergencies or bathroom breaks. In such cases, a proctor may accompany the examinee.

  • Cheating and Plagiarism - Academic dishonesty, including cheating and plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. Attempting to cheat on an exam will result in disqualification and potential consequences.

  • Late Arrivals - It's imperative to be punctual for exams as some testing centers may not allow those who arrive late.

  • Behavior Guidelines - Violating testing center rules, such as disruptive behavior, talking during exams, or accessing unauthorized materials, can result in exam invalidation.

To ensure an impartial evaluation of your skills and expertise during the TEAS exam, you must adhere to the testing facility's instructions. By following these protocols, you can guarantee a seamless testing experience.
